BawinangaRangers
Bawinanga Rangers, hosted by Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation, was establed in 1995 by Traditional Owners of the Djelk Indigenous Protected Area.
They manage 200 kilometres of coastline and over 6,700 square kilometres of land and sea country in West and Central Arnhem Land—from estuaries, wetlands and rivers, to monsoonal rainforests and tropical savannas. Bawinanga Rangers, alongside Warddeken Land Management Limited, founded KKT to help make their vision for healthy Country and culture a reality.
Their work plays a vital role in keeping the cultures and languages in their region strong. They also exist to provide employment and career pathways and to support sustainable enterprise development opportunites on Country. They work with many partners for the benefit of all 13 language groups and over 100 different clan groups.
